The project “Through Education for a Safer Tomorrow” is implemented by the organization “Friends of Srebrenica” with financial support from our foundation “La Terra Nostra.”

This project included a series of programs and workshops in which participants and organizers addressed issues, challenges, and empowerment of children, young people, and women in a detailed and thorough way. This approach contributes to breaking the intergenerational transmission of trauma, pre-determined decisions and lifestyles, imposed gender roles, stereotypes, and prejudices under which young generations are growing up.

All project activities are based on the identified needs of the target group and local development plans and strategies. The project and its activities were developed based on the project team’s years of experience and in close cooperation with the target population, taking into account their needs and desires. In this way, it is possible to ensure that project participants act as role models in their communities and become agents of positive personal as well as social change.

The project was held in June at the Paradise Beach in Bratunac.
