In July 2025, the Association “Education Builds BiH – Jovan Divjak” organized an inclusive summer camp at Boračko Lake, bringing together 60 participants from different parts of BiH and Belgium. Thanks to the support of the La Terra Nostra Foundation, which covered accommodation and food expenses, the camp became a place of encounter, solidarity, and shared learning.
Participants included children and youth from vulnerable groups — children without parents, persons with developmental difficulties, members of the Roma community, returnee children from Zvornik, as well as Red Cross volunteers. They were joined by Belgian scouts, who brought with them a spirit of international cooperation and friendship.
During the seven-day stay, participants engaged in a variety of educational and recreational activities:
· workshops on the history of the scouting movement and first aid
· field exercises with the Red Cross
· educational sessions on the legacy of General Jovan Divjak
· quizzes, walks, environmental workshops, and the digital museum Microfolie
· commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide remembrance day
Evenings were reserved for music, guitars, karaoke, and group reflections. Participants emphasized that they built new friendships, developed team spirit, and learned the values of tolerance, activism, and community care.
The La Terra Nostra Foundation proudly stands behind this project, convinced that inclusive encounters such as this one change lives — not only of the participants, but of the wider community as well.
